Collaborative Writing & Editing
I partner with writers, thinkers, and public figures to help bring complex ideas and lived experience into clear, compelling written form.
Recent collaborations include projects published by Penguin Tarcher and Avery.
My role varies from project to project — sometimes developmental editor, sometimes structural partner, sometimes full ghostwriter — but the core of the work is always the same: careful listening, rigorous shaping, and deep respect for the author’s voice.
HOW I WORK
Every collaboration begins with conversation. I typically start with an exploratory call, followed by a structured discovery process tailored to the scope of the project. Because this work is deeply collaborative, I take on a limited number of projects each year.
A NOTE ON FIT
I tend to work best with authors who are deeply engaged in their material and open to a rigorous collaborative process. If you’re working on a substantial writing project and feel we might be a good match, I welcome you to reach out.
TESTIMONIALS:
“I am deeply grateful to Alexander Nemser, who helped give form to my experiences and translate my reflections into written language, allowing my voice to reach the page with clarity and heart.”
“Alexander Nemser helped me with Mind Magic, not only in regard to organizing my thoughts but also to assist in turning what could have been a somewhat dry topic into a compelling narrative, intertwining the science with stories that I had shared with him. In the process, Alexander has become a close friend.”
